Set quietly on a hill, being married at Alkaff Mansion feels a little removed from the rest of Singapore. You step in and the pace changes—white walls, arched windows, the kind of light that moves slowly through the space. There’s a softness to it, but also a sense of history that holds everything together.
It leans romantic without trying too hard. Not overly polished, not too grand—just enough character to carry the day without overwhelming it. The surrounding greenery helps too. It gives you room to breathe, which is rare for a venue this close to the city.
For couples who want something that feels intimate but still elevated, this space does it quietly.
What the couple did:
The couple wasn’t a fan of the common morning wedding practices, and instead just opted for an intimate Christian ceremony at the gazebo in the evening as the sun sets. As the sky softens to blue hour, we took some couple photos with the fairy lights coming on, casting a warm glow against the cool evening tones. Everything felt a little slower and romantic.
My tips for couples getting married at The Alkaff Mansion:
The outdoor terrace is where solemnisations happen, and late afternoon solemnisations from 11am onwards can be harsh for your guests.
Most couples choose to get ready at home or their hotels arrive dressed, as the makeup room is quite small.
If you’re having an evening solemnisation, there’s nice sunset light for couples photos after. The place also feels more like a gathering once the fairy lights come up.
The march-in route can be a little tight and narrow, and couples tend to walk in a single file.
